Reiner Ruthenbeck makes use of Minimalist and Conceptualist strategies, defining them alongside color opposites and geometric/organic polarities. In his installations at the Folkwang Museum in Essen, reproduced here, the viewer is given the task of completing the concurrence of figures and fragments in his or her imagination.
