Qualifiying adult learning professionals in Europe

Im Herbst 2005 richtete das DIE eine europäische Forschergruppe zum Thema „Competences in the Field of Adult and Continuing Education“ ein, die den Stand und die Perspektiven der Erwachsenen- und Weiterbildung in den europäischen Ländern erarbeitete. Dieser Band dokumentiert Beiträge zur Tagung „Qualifying the Actors in Adult and Continuing Education: Trends and Perspectives“ aus dem Mai 2007. Dort wurden Ergebnisse dieser Forschung gemeinsam mit innovativen Qualifizierungsprojekten aus der gesamten EU präsentiert. This volume combines the outcome of the European Research Group “Competences in the Field of Adult and Continuing Education“, set up by the DIE in autumn 2005, and the European Conference “Qualifying the Actors in Adult and Continuing Education: Trends and Perspectives”, which was organised by the DIE in May 2007 with support from the European Commission. The publication provides policy makers and practitioners with an overview of current professionalisation efforts in Europe and points out the major challenges for further action. It includes contributions by renowned adult education researchers as well as short presentations of good practice examples.
