More about the book
Charing Cross explores the historical concepts of homelessness, and how the economic and physical structures of the city impact upon people who inhabit its public space. Norman was invited by the Serpentine Gallery and The Connection at St Martin’s, one of the UK’s largest organisations for homeless people, to create a new work in response to the charity’s location in central London. Norman worked with artists at The Connection at St Martin’s to map their experiences, uncovering an invisible geography in and around the Charing Cross area.
