More about the book
Abstract Usually a filter medium gets characterized by determining the most important filtration specific parameters. Due to the geometry and structure of multifilament fabrics, standard approaches to determine these parameters are not applicable or need correction to better reflect the properties of a multifilament fabric. One of the main goals of this work was to further develop standard methods for filter medium characterization and to adapt them to the special needs of multifile filter media. The structure of the filter medium was investigated by using visual methods like transmitted light photography , microscopy and scanning electron microscopy.
