Mona Vătămanu and Florin Tudor

The first monograph on the work of Romanian artist team Mona Vatamanu and Florin Tudor, with extensive images since 2000, on the occasion of the Surplus Value exhibition. This rich goulash of film, photography, painting, performance, and site-specific projects is complemented by specially commissioned texts critically analyzing Vatamanu and Florin's work in relation to history and contemporary art.The way these artists look at issues such as collective memory, erasure, the remnants of fallen regimes, and amnesia towards recent history has positioned them among the most compelling and literate interpreters of our contemporary post-communist condition, extending far beyond their native Romania to the 'former West' and further afield.
