More about the book

In May 2009, an excursion trip related to the 'young cities' research project led to the creation of the film project 'Tehran - city of streets.' This film captures journeys through Tehran's inner city, outskirts, and suburban Hashtgerd, showcasing the streets that define the metropolitan area. The book draws from stills of this film, exploring Tehran through a conventional yet striking lens. As the suburban area serves as the backdrop for the 'young cities' project and its pilot initiative, the LIFEcenter, understanding the city is crucial for the project's development. This research focuses on urban and architectural planning to enhance living conditions in the Tehran-Karaj region. A key component of a thriving urban landscape is education, prompting the design of an educational facility dedicated to vocational training, exhibitions, and communication about sustainable planning. This center, known as LIFEcenter, aims to foster awareness of these themes and become a focal point for the young city. To truly engage with a city, one must connect with its essence—listening, seeing, smelling, and feeling its unique spirit, emphasizing the importance of shared experiences within the urban environment.
