English summary: Due to its location and history, Thuringian occupies a central role within the dialects of Germany. Containing elements of both north and south German regional dialects, the language also served as one of the two founding dialects of literary High German. This volume studies the provenance, basic meaning, word history, and the semantic and morphological development of the Thuringian dialects from its Indo-European roots until today. German text. German description: Dem Thuringischen kommt aufgrund seiner Lage im Herzen Deutschlands zwischen norddeutschen (niederdeutschen) und suddeutschen (hochdeutschen bzw. oberdeutschen) Mundarten als mitteldeutschem Dialekt eine zentrale Rolle zu. Es zeigt daruber hinaus Anteile vor allem suddeutscher, teilweise auch norddeutscher Regiolekte und gilt mit dem Kanzleisachsischen als wesentlicher Stifter der schriftdeutschen Hochsprache. Die beiden Autoren untersuchen in dem vorliegenden Band die Herkunft, Grundbedeutung, Wort- und Sachgeschichte, die semantische, morphologische, gegebenenfalls auch syntaktische und phraseologische Entwicklung der Thuringer Dialekte ausgehend von der indogermanischen Sprache bis heute exemplarisch anhand ausgewahlter Worter aus dem Wortfeld Haus und Hof.
