More about the book
The Fuerteventura Field Guide is meant for tourists who want to explore the island. On the inside of the front cover there is a Map of the Fuerteventura Biosphere Reserve, pointing out the particularly protected areas. With the help of the Fuerteventura Road Map on the inside of the back cover, more remote areas can easily be found. In contrast to the predominantly rugged, rocky north-west coast, the surf is not very strong on the south-east coast because of the north-east trade winds blowing seaward. That is why sandy beaches and surfing areas are lined up there like pearls on a chain. Inland, there is arable land as well as vast desert areas with sparse vegetation, predominantly dry bushes. Here many indigenous plants and animals may be found.
