And so the project ”Wohlstandstraum / Nuclear Family“ becomes an aesthetic set of visual components which gives the viewer broad intellectual options. Berg’s prints and texts evoke a mild melancholy, which is quickly overshadowed by the strength and self-assured stance of the photographs. Berg’s prints serve as a metaphor for a universal dream of well-being and safety that finds its voice and hope in good design, grounded in the International Style. These are contemporary images, even as they reflect a specific piece of history. And they will remain so until they themselves become historic.
