This book draws implications for promotion of the quality, attractiveness and accessibility of higher education by forming the interface of interdisciplinary research on current issues in higher education. The book comprises the state-of-the-art and three chapters. The state-of-the-art section reveals the authors? interpretation of interdisciplinary research. Further on, analysis of factors that influence interdisciplinary research and criteria of interdisciplinary research will be presented. Each chapter illustrates interdisciplinary research on innovations in higher education: - Chapter 1 presents interdisciplinary research on technological innovations in higher education, - Chapter 2 demonstrates interdisciplinary research on educational innovations in tertiary language education, and - Chapter 3 shows interdisciplinary research on social innovations in higher education. The Enterprise 3.0 in Tertiary Curriculum Development contribution demonstrates results of use of educational, business management and computer sciences? research for tertiary curriculum development. Chapter 2 introduces the linguistics? and psychology? s findings incorporated into language education within higher education. The Integration of Components of Languaging into Engineering Education contribution discusses such components of languaging as social interaction and cognitive activity integrated into tertiary language education for engineering students. The Making the Transition: From Language Skills to Functional Skills in Tertiary Language Education paper describes the psychological perspective on such an educational issue as skills in tertiary language education. The Sociolinguistic Perspective on Professional Language and Its Implications for Tertiary Language Education contribution examines the influence on professional language by the modern students. Chapter 3 brings together the theoretical and practical developments in psychology, mathematics and culture sciences on the educational process in higher education. The Educational Process in Peer-Centred Curriculum in Higher Education contribution analyzes a number of psychological findings for the design of the educational process in higher education. The Gamification of the Educational Process paper considers the organisation of the educational process from the perspectives of game theory applied in a number of science branches. The Factors That Influence Student Police Officers’ Peer-Learning in the English for Specific Purposes Course contribution examines the influence of linguistics?, psychological and cultural aspects on the police officers? participation in the educational process. The Conclusion part of the present contribution provides - summary of the findings of the theoretical and empirical research, - practical recommendations, and - directions of further research.
