More about the book
In the 8th century B. C. the Sabaens ruled vast regions of Southern Arabia from the metropolis of Marib. They sent their caravans along the Frankinsense Trail to Mesopotamia and the Mediterranean and built sacred monuments for their gods. Spectacular inscriptions found in recent years not only offer a more profound insight into the political map of Southern Arabia of the time, but also provide evidence of the early expansion of the Sabaens towards the west, across the Bab al-Mandab and into the Ethiopian highlands.
