More about the book

This comprehensive study on Triviidae builds upon Cate's 1979 review, introducing two new genera and numerous species from the central Indo-Pacific, Pacific, and southwestern Indian Ocean that are new to science. Most of the new taxa originate from deep-sea environments, reaching depths of up to 1000 meters. The work is divided into several parts, detailing new Triviidae from various regions, including the Philippines, Taiwan, Indonesia, and the Australes, as well as the Marquesas. Among the new taxa are Gregoia n. gen. and Novatrivia n. gen., along with multiple new species such as Gregoia mauricettae, Gregoia albengai, and Gregoia mariecatherinae, among others. The study also presents species like Novatrivia mirabilis and Trivellona gilbertoi, contributing significantly to the understanding of this family. This volume not only expands the taxonomic framework of Triviidae but also enhances knowledge of their distribution and ecological significance in deep-sea habitats.
