The catalog transports readers into a building that is in different aggregate states. On the basis of texts and floor plans, the impression emerges that the edifice presented, which is sealed on the outside, is a sort of “Noah’s Ark for things,” an archive, or a collector’s house. In each chapter of the book, Gunstheimer sketches out a room in the rambling building.
