Active vibration control using the centrifugal forces of eccentrically rotating masses

More about the book

The basic layout of the damping device consists of two eccentric control masses. These masses rotate with a constant angular velocity about two parallel axes and generate, under some further operational conditions, a harmonic control force. Control algorithms ensuring the continuous motion of the rotors and the dampen effect of the device are derived and studied for free and stochastically forced vibrations. Based on numerical simulations and experiments, it is shown that the device effectively damps vibrations of single degree and two degree of freedom oscillators in a power-efficient manner.
