Mezmure Lidet

Mezmure lidet, which means birth song or psalm birth, was written for the 55th birthday anniversary of qedamawi khayle shelassé, the Conquering Lion from the Tribe of Juda, Elect of igziabher and King of Kings of Ethiopia. It presents a poetic enumeration of the great deeds of the King of Kings from the time of his birth in editorsa goro as lidj teferi mekonnen, son of ras tefferi mekonnen and yeshimebet ali in 1892, till his 55th birthday by then as King of Kings in 1947.
