The Giver

Jonas, the twelve-year-old protagonist of Lois Lowry's prize-winninge novel "The Giver" seems to live in a perfect world. In the Ceremony of Twelve he receives his lifetime assignement: he is chosen to be the new "Receiver of Memory" of his community. During his training, performed by "The Giver of Memory", Jonas finds out about the dark secrets that underlie the apparent harmony of his world
