More about the book

What if fourteen individuals, dedicated to change in their communities worldwide, shared their stories? In this collection, fourteen writers, gathered by Project VOICE over three years, recount their daily experiences in social, humanitarian, medical, development, and peace-related fields across Africa, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East. Their powerful, honest, and thought-provoking narratives have largely remained untold, yet they are crucial and should be conveyed by those who live them. The aim is to amplify these unique voices and present their stories to readers for the first time. Sheila Chepkoech from Kenya reflects on Africa's richness in happiness, love, and natural resources, contrasting this with the Western perception of poverty and conflict. Hintsa Solomon from Eritrea/Germany expresses a desire for freedom from dictatorship, emphasizing the importance of self-determination. Noha Rbeiz from Lebanon highlights the positive changes in her community, where girls no longer marry or drop out of school at 14, acknowledging the challenges of shifting entrenched beliefs. Through these narratives, the collection seeks to illuminate the diverse experiences and resilience of individuals striving for social change.
