This study by «the foremost German specialist on North American aboriginal religions» (Hultkrantz) investigates the remarkable affinities between the ancient traditions of Native America and West Eurasia such as calendar forms, myths, New Year rituals, and architectural forms. In the light of these affinities, the Bering-Strait theory is called into question and a new way of looking at American pre-history is suggested.
