The genera Calodema Gory & Laporte, 1838 and Metaxymorpha Parry, 1848 are reviewed. The text is accompanied by 265 colour photographs showing variability of the species. Photographs of a few living specimens are included, along with a DVD showing video sequences of living Calodema and Metaxymorpha specimens in Australia and Papa New Guinea including pictures of the environment and people in the highlands of central Papa New Guinea.
