This collection features the best papers from the Second International Conference on E-business and Telecommunication Networks (ICETE), held in 2005 at the Microsoft Research Centre in Reading, UK. Organized by INSTICC in collaboration with the University of Westminster/WITRC, the conference aimed to enhance the exchange of expertise among professionals in e-business and telecommunication networks, focusing on security, wireless systems, signal processing, and various applications that introduce new services and technologies to consumers. The primary goal was to unite researchers and developers from academia and industry to foster discussions on telecommunication networks. The conference included four simultaneous tracks: “Global Communication Information Systems and Services,” “Security and Reliability in Information Systems and Networks,” “Wireless Communication Systems and Networks,” and “Multimedia Signal Processing.” These tracks attracted a diverse audience of engineers, scientists, business professionals, and policy experts, all interested in the research topics presented. Each track emphasized specific research areas and real-world applications, drawing on industry contributions to explore various solutions for end-user applications and enabling technologies across different communication environments.
