More about the book

For years there have not been really innovative or revolutionary ideas in the field of business intelligence. Therefore the hor of this study asks the question: "If the computer delivers the information which is needed by the humans to make decisions, then why can't the computer make the decision by itself"? By comprehensible examples it is shown how we can do one step beyond common data warehouse and mining systems. Giving practical examples, the hor explains how a transformation of data, information, mathematical results and the human will into executable solutions can be realised. Since the study offers a broad spectrum ranging from technical basics and algorithms to philosophic questions about responsibility and conscience, it is a basic reading for every scientist, student or developer who is going to explore the field of omised decision making and solution systems. Thomas H. Lenhard was born in 1967 in Germany. He has worked as an officer in the Ministry of Finance and studied economics, computer science, logistics and management in Ludwigshafen/Rhine, Saarbruecken and Bratislava. After finishing his studies, Dr. Lenhard worked for several well-known software companies, as chief developer of the data warehouse system of a multinational company and as CIO of a health care company. In addition to his profession, he has taught computer science at the University of Applied Sciences in Ludwigshafen/Rhine and at the University of Saarbruecken from 1996 to 2007. He has worked as a surveyor and consultant for computer technology ever since and is also teaching at the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslern and as a guest lecturer at the Comenius University Bratislava.
