More about the book
This issue of the APAD-Bulletin approaches the ambiguous relationship between religion and development. The different papers analyse the ways in which religious elites are involved in the elaboration and implementation of 'development'. Insightful case studies from Nigeria, Niger, Burkina Faso and Senegal demonstrate how religious elites may collaborate with other development actors, such as the State, or, on the contrary, present themselves as competitors and alternatives in the development arena.
