Controlling resonances of nonlinear electronic and electromechanical oscillators

Authors

More about the book

The dynamics of nonlinear electronic and electro-mechanical oscillators driven by both low- and high-frequency external signals are studied theoretically and experimentally. It is shown that due to the interaction of these harmonic forces the central frequency of the oscillator resonances, their linear dynamic range, the critical value for the bistability onset are controlled in a wide range by changing parameters of the low-frequency drive. The application of the drive results also in arising of additional resonances what essentially extends possible applications and functionality of such oscillators, including the development of novel types of memory elements. The feasibility of the theoretical findings is confirmed in experiments with a varactor tuned RLC circuit and a Hartley-type oscillator.
