More about the book
To mark the birth of an heir to the throne in 1662, Elector Ferdinand Maria presented his wife Henriette Adelaide of Savoy with a piece of land outside the residence town of Munich where she could build a comfortable country seat. The palace complex she created was subsequently expanded into a prestigious summer residence by her son Elector Max Emanuel. With its extensive park, which was transformed in the English landscape style after 1804, Nymphenburg is one of the most magnificent palace complexes in Germany.
