Stefanie Zweig wurde 1932 in Oberschlesien geboren und wanderte im Zuge der nationalsozialistischen Verfolgungen 1938 mit ihren Eltern nach Kenia aus. Dort verlebte sie ihre Kindheit auf einer Farm. 1947 kehrte sie nach Deutschland zurück und leitete 30 Jahre lang das Feuilleton einer Frankfurter Tageszeitung.
