More about the book

Originally a small farming community, Kimberley flourished following the Industrial Revolution. Pictures of Digby and Kimberley Collieries contrast sharply with rural-looking views of the old Stag Inn and the Knowle. The Victoria Mills and Hardy's famous brewery are featured, as is The Firs, a big house with an interesting history that was demolished despite local opposition in 1988. Kimberley locals are seen parading through the town for the Coronation of King George V, and there are pictures of both the town's railway stations and the Kimberley viaduct, another landmark to have been demolished.
