Most of us live on dry land but our language is full of watery figures of speech, so it was not hard for John F J Brooks to come up with the title of this piece. The author set out on his journey over sixty years ago. Rhyme and rhythm, great thoughts and some good old plain English have all added colour and depth to his life, which he is happy to share. Jobs have come and jobs have gone, but the longest threads of his life have been the abiding pleasures of art, music and poetry, washed down with good wine!
