More about the book
The statue of Massasoit, created by Cyrus Dallin to honor the Pokanoket leader, was initially installed in Plymouth, Massachusetts, in 1921. Intended to celebrate the spirit of the first Thanksgiving, it unexpectedly gained prominence beyond its original location. The plaster model found a home in Utah's state capitol and later became involved in a notable art fraud case. Today, replicas of the statue are displayed in various locations, including Brigham Young University and Kansas City, as well as in numerous households worldwide.
