More about the book
In 1950, the former bunker near the Recklinghausen railway station was gutted and transformed into a temple of art. Ferdinand Ullrich, long-standing director of the Kunsthalle, was always present with his camera and untiringly shot photographs for catalogues and his own documentation. To mark his retirement, he has produced a photobook with numerous large-format illustrations that document the most important views and mutations of this extraordinary building.
