While the Munchkins remain unaware of the life atop this towering hill, the Hyups inhabit its broad, saucer-shaped summit, cultivating fields and raising livestock in a hidden, self-sufficient community. Their isolation is compounded by the mountain's steep slopes, which prevent interaction between the two groups, highlighting themes of separation and the unknown.
