More about the book

The Impossible Project (www.the-impossible-project.com/) is the sole manufacturer and distributor of film for Polaroid cameras. Their website hosts a series of projects and contests, inviting photographers to use their film (aptly named Impossible film) and then exhibit their images online. The Impossible Project has partnered with Potter Style to create a new project for their website, The Spectrum Collection, a crowd-sourced assortment of 50 instant-film photos, reproduced as postcards and packaged in a colourful keepsake box. Each photograph highlights one colour of the spectrum-from the brightest reds to the darkest purples-creating a vibrant rainbow collection ideal for lovers of the vintage analogue aesthetic. The Impossible Project saved the last Polaroid production plant from destruction and started to invent totally new instant film for traditional Polaroid cameras. Their headquarters are located in Vienna, with permanent galleries across the world.Instagram was the most popular iPhone app in 2011, and with its sale to Facebook in 2012, it's clear the analogue aesthetic has been revived and reclaimed, even as photography has gone digital.
