Features include part of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, with New Basin and Timber Quay Basin; Glass Bottle Manufactory; Scotland Place; Bevington Bush Baths; St Martin's Market. For the most part this is a map of cramped houses, most of them back-to-back, with small, often noxious industries. Few public buildings are shown and author Kay Parrott says that the area has "fortunately changed out of all recognition". Many tiny courts are also shown, many of them named. A fascinating map for anyone interested in the living conditions of Liverpool's inner city in the mid 19th century. Street directories for Leeds Street, Marybone, Naylor Street, Richmond Row and Scotland Road are included on the reverse.
