Prière de toucher - The Touch of Art

Can art be touched? What is the role played by feeling, touching and grasping in human experience? PRIÈRE DE TOUCHER. The Touch of Art pulls together the papers delivered at the interdis ciplinary symposium held during the exhibition of the same name at Museum Tinguely, Basel in April 2016. These essays from fi elds which include the history of art and architecture, fashion design, media, cultural, religious and fi lm studies and the neurosciences offer highly instructive and frequently surprising insights into the all- pervasive importance of touch.
