It All Comes Down to This

Set in 1965 Los Angeles, the story follows twelve-year-old Sophie as she navigates the challenges of being the new black girl in a predominantly white neighborhood. With her sister leaving for college and her parents' marriage in turmoil, Sophie faces additional tensions with a disapproving housekeeper. As riots break out in Watts and a friend is unjustly arrested, she grapples with her identity and the complexities of life, all while pursuing her dreams of writing and acting.
