Oracle of the Dead

Set in southern Italy, the story follows Decius Caecilius Metellus, a magistrate for foreign cases, who visits the Oracle of the Dead. What begins as a simple excursion turns dangerous when a rivalry between the priests of Apollo and Hecate escalates into violence following the priests' murder. As tensions rise among Greeks, Romans, and various native Italians, old grudges threaten to ignite chaos in the region, intertwining personal and cultural conflicts in a gripping narrative.
