Milan Svanderlik, born in Czechoslovakia in 1948, recounts his childhood during the Communist regime's rise to power. His family's past ties to Tito led to social ostracism and eventual deportation. "Sketches from Childhood" combines memoir and photographs, detailing his experiences from 1948 to 1956. Svanderlik is also a photographer and artist.
