Set in the late Middle Ages, the story follows two children who escape a false accusation and embark on an adventurous journey filled with trials. Along the way, they encounter the Travelling People, experience witch trials and plagues, and find refuge with monks. Their travels take them across the Mediterranean to Egypt, where they face both breathtaking sights and dangers. After three years of exploration and growth, they return home, forever changed by their harrowing experiences and the bonds formed along the way.
