An adventure story set in the ocean waters of the Atlantic and spanning the fifty years from the Second World War to modern times. The hero, Simon Chase, runs his own institute for marine conservation with the aim of fighting pollution and saving endangered marine species. He finds a creature in the deep which is a product of a bizarre genetic experiment conducted by the Nazis towards the end of the war.
