Political Leadership and Management of Services in a Downturn Economy

Municipal leaders grapple with prioritizing non-mandated civic projects amid budget constraints. This study examines their decision-making processes through a framework grounded in three theories, highlighting themes such as expert opinions, project completion costs, perceived value, and funding availability. Key areas needing enhancement include infrastructure, traffic management, and community engagement. The findings advocate for improved governmental transparency and systematic decision-making, ultimately contributing to a deeper understanding of organizational decision-making processes in local governance.
