Set in the early 19th century, the story follows Edmond Dantes, a sailor wrongfully imprisoned in Château D'If by his enemies. In prison, he befriends an abbé who educates him and reveals the location of a hidden treasure. Complications arise when Dantes's plans threaten the life of Albert, the son of his lost love, forcing him to confront his past.
