The discovery of an M-1 rifle belonging to Jim Farrell's uncle, Martin "Matty" Teahan, on Saint Patrick's Day 2016, uncovers a poignant connection to the past. Matty, a young private who died during the D-Day invasion in June 1944, is memorialized in the Normandy American Cemetery. The rifle, found in Normandy after 72 years, is now in the care of French Army General Patrick Collet, bringing a piece of history back to the Teahan family and highlighting themes of remembrance and legacy.
