Mendoza, a Preserver for The Dr. Zeus Company, is tasked with collecting species from the past for future preservation. However, her mission takes a dark turn when she kills six individuals in California in 1863, leading The Company to erase her existence. The story explores themes of morality, survival, and the consequences of one's actions in a unique time-traveling context.
