Heavenly Confinement?

Exploring the often-overlooked role of prison chaplains, this study reveals insights from twelve Christian chaplains across six prisons in North East England. By integrating their testimonies with perspectives from prisoners and staff, it offers a comprehensive analysis of the chaplain's impact within the penitentiary system. Utilizing frameworks like Liberation Theology and Neo-Marxism, the work advocates for a radical reevaluation of imprisonment, emphasizing how chaplains can challenge the dehumanizing nature of these institutions.
