Historical Spoken Language Research

Focusing on historical spoken language, this book analyzes two corpora from Victorian London and 1930s Bolton to explore continuity and change. It demonstrates how examining these historical sources reveals insights into the nature of spoken language, as well as the attitudes, values, and behaviors of the communities represented.
