Utilizing a Michael addition reaction with a specific catalyst, the research evaluates the antimicrobial properties of these compounds against Bacillus subtilis and Shigella. Findings indicate that the metal complexes exhibit superior antibacterial activity compared to the ligand and metal salts alone, with the Cu+2 complex demonstrating greater efficacy than the Ni+2 complex against the tested bacteria.
