Exploring the underrepresentation of women in superintendency roles within K-12 public school systems, this study examines the experiences of 27 qualified women aiming for executive leadership. It investigates the barriers to achieving superintendency, the pathways taken, and the context of educational administration. Utilizing a feminist poststructural framework, the research seeks to understand the dynamics of leadership among aspiring women and advocates for social change to promote a more equitable distribution of these prestigious positions.
