More about the book
The thesis focuses on the advancement of a non-contact dermatoscope, transforming it into a new prototype at the Hannover Institute of Optical Technologies. Key improvements include an enhanced illumination system using a custom reflector for better brightness and light homogeneity, automation of focus and polarizer adjustments, and the integration of a LabVIEW program for image processing. Tests demonstrated the system's capability to resolve structures as small as 30 micrometers, while its design enhances usability for dermatologists through a flexible mounting system.
