More about the book
Focusing on women's experiences with peripartum care, this research highlights significant dissatisfaction among patients at Germiston Bertha Gxowa Hospital. A study involving 260 women revealed that 68% were unhappy with pain relief during labor, and 55% felt inadequately informed by doctors. Additionally, 73% expressed dissatisfaction with their involvement in care decisions. In contrast, high satisfaction rates were noted for privacy (84%) and cleanliness (90%). The study found no correlation between satisfaction levels and the various care factors assessed.
