More about the book
Written by Heinrich Bullinger in 1562, this confession emerged as a response to perceived Lutheran influences in the Strasbourg Consensus. It gained traction among Reformed leaders seeking a more distinct statement of faith for Swiss churches, which felt the First Confession was inadequate. Although an effort was made to unify Swiss churches under this confession, the Basel clergy opted to maintain their own 1534 Basel Confession, despite acknowledging the merit of Bullinger's work.
