A Country of Our Own

Set against the backdrop of the Civil War, the story follows Lt. Ker Custis Claiborne, a Virginian and former U.S. Navy officer who opposes slavery yet joins the Confederate Navy. Alongside his mentor, Captain Parker Trezevant, Claiborne engages in destructive missions across the Caribbean, aiming to weaken the Union's position and secure a favorable truce for the Confederacy. The narrative explores themes of loyalty, conflict, and the moral complexities of war.
